We made Goodwill trips today to get materials to build a lamp around. I took one mini-bus and half the class while my colleague took the other half. We split up so the poor Goodwills didn’t get overrun and the kids didn’t compete for materials.
Kids bought a tricycle, a bunch of baby stuff (still not sure what K’s thinking), a batter’s helmet, a motorcycle helmet, and various other household goods. We’re providing the lamp kits like so:
After Goodwill, we spent the afternoon working on the two projects we’re sharing tomorrow: LED Matrix Dessert Trays and Snookball. I sat with the LED kids, working out the transistor circuit required to power things. The wiring was intense, the kids were troopers, and the enthusiasm genuine when three of the boards finally worked:
