Day 1: Short Classes, Full Rotation

Wednesday, 13 August 2014

My 11th first day as a teacher, yay! Not much to speak of today in class as we rotated every 35 minutes. We’re expected to give out syllabi and answer questions. I took a little time in each class to show off musical instruments kids have made in the past, so that was fun. Two noteworthy items, otherwise: 1) new advisory group and 2) I took the Ice Bucket Challenge after school.

New Advisees!

Anonymous freshmen!

We stay with our advisees through the end of junior year. This batch of freshmen is mine to corrupt help through 3/4 of high school. We’re gonna take a picture every semester so I can convince them they’re growing through the years.

Ice Bucket Challenge

I only first heard of the challenge on Monday, and now I stand in front of Pressly Hall with a bucket of ice water? How’d we get here so quickly?
