Day 38: Instrument Presentations

Monday, 7 October 2013

Cookie tin uke. This kid knows how to play all kinds of musical instruments and it showed.

Pan pipes. A simple instrument, executed well. Note the timer on my board to keep us on track (3 minutes to present, 2 minutes to leave feedback).

This year, the cigar box uke was a popular instrument. I taught the makers of this one to use about 4 different power tools. They got nice results.

My uber-devious presentation ordering method. Can you guess what relates all these animal types?

Google Form feedback we all completed on each presentation.

The kiddos shared their musical instruments today and left each other feedback. Above is the feedback form my colleague created and shared with me. I haven’t read much of the feedback, but upon glancing through did see the following constructive criticism and commendation left:

Criticism: The strings kind of went everywhere and it looked kind of silly.

Commendation: The instrument that they chose was very creative and played really well!

The animals are all verses in “There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly”. We presented in the order of the verses in the song.
